In a few short months, Todd fifth graders will be navigating the middle school hallways, juggling multiple classrooms and figuring out how to use their lockers. To prepare, they visited Briarcliff Middle School for a tour and a Q&A session with current sixth graders.

After an unusual number of rainy days and two cancellations, Todd School finally got the “Goldilocks” of weather for Field Day and enjoyed an abundance of sunshine and perfectly blue skies.

The field was painted in a dazzling rainbow of colors – students and staff dressed in red, yellow, orange, green, blue and purple, as they celebrated one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Todd kindergartners and first graders should not be bored this summer, having met children’s book author Beth Ferry. Ms. Ferry visited recently and shared a chockful of writing tips, encouraging them to spend their summer writing and reading.

Todd Elementary School fifth grade teacher Cindy Yaeger is retiring this year. We talked with her about her most memorable moments, what advice she has to offer new teachers and her favorite day of the year.

Humor can be an effective way to convey messages to children, even when discussing a heavy subject such as bullying.

Recently, Todd students watched a presentation by “Box Out Bullying” – a national touring organization that combines live theater with strategies to prevent and respond to bullying.

Oftentimes, when people read a book that they enjoy, they want to share this with others. At Todd Elementary School’s Video Booktalk Club, students have the chance to recommend books and share their enthusiasm for reading with each other as well.
