Teacher Aides

A Teacher Aide provides individualized support to students with special needs, as outlined in a student's IEP, and may also assist small groups as appropriate. Responsibilities may include escorting students to and from the building at arrival and dismissal, supporting participation and engagement within a self-contained classroom, and facilitating integration into related services and general school activities. The aide supports students across all settings—including classroom instruction, recess, lunch, and transitions—and assists during fire drills or other emergencies. Duties may also include assisting with toilet skills, feeding, and other daily living needs, ensuring the student's safety, dignity, and full access to the school environment.

Starting Salary: $18.14–$24.51 per hour (Salaries based on SRP Salary Scale)

Work Day:
• School Day with 30 minute lunch.

Work Year:
• 180 Briarcliff Manor UFSD Student Instructional Days

• 8 Sick Days (7 may be used for Family Illness)
• 3 Personal Days
• 5 Bereavement Days
• .5 Cancer Screening Day

• Provided by Aetna, managed via the Putnam | Northern Westchester Health Benefits Consortium
• Employees contribute 50% of the monthly premium
• Employee Only: $1,015/mo (50% = $507.50)
• Employee +1 (Spouse or Child): $2,437/mo (50% = $1218.5)
• Employee + Family: $2,659/mo (50% = $1329.50)

Dental Benefits:

• $500 Out-of-Pocket Dental Reimbursement per fiscal year

Group Term Life & Disability Insurance:

• Provided by Mutual of Omaha at no cost to the employee

AFLAC Insurance:

• Available at no cost to the employee

• Healthcare Reimbursement: $300–$3,200/year
• Dependent Care Reimbursement: $300–$5,000/year per household
