Facilities & Grounds

Facilities employees may be assigned a variety of schedules based on roles, responsibilities and needs.  Employees assigned to night shifts will earn an additional Night Differential of $3,093.  

Leave Accruals

• Sick Leave: 15 days
  • 7 days may be used for Family Illness
• Personal Leave: 3 days 
• Bereavement Leave: 5 days 
• Cancer Screening: .5 day

Vacation Days

• 5 days (first year of employment if hired before May 1st)
• 10 days (second and third year of employment)
• 15 days (third - tenth years of employment
• 20 days (eleventh to fifteenth year of employment)
• 25 days (sixteenth or more years of employment

Holidays

15 or more school holiday days (see unit calendar for specific days)

Attendance Bonus

• July 1 – December 31
  • $300 (0 days taken)
  • $200 (1 day taken)
  • $100 (2 days taken)
• January 1 – June 30 (must have no greater than three or more absences between July 1 – December 31)

Health Benefits

• Provided by Aetna, managed via Putnam|Northern Westchester Health Benefits Consortium
• Members hired prior to July 1, 2022, contribute 10% of the monthly premium.
• Members hired on or after July 1, 2022, contribute 12% of the monthly premium
• Plan Premium options:
  • Employee Only: $1,015
  • Employee +1 (Spouse or Child): $2,437
  • Employee + Family: $2,659

Dental Benefits:

• Provided by Guardian
• Members hired prior to July 1, 2022, contribute 10% of the monthly premium.
• Members hired on or after July 1, 2022, contribute 12% of the monthly premium
• Plan Premium options:
  • Employee: $67.68
  • Employee + Family: $160.93

Group Term Life/Disability:

• Provided by Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, at no cost to the employee.

AFLAC Insurance: 

• Available to employees at no cost to the district.

Tax Sheltered Annuity Plans (OMNI): 

• 403(b) and/or 457 plans.

Retirement:

• Eligible for NYS Employees’ Retirement System with five or more years of service.

Flexible Benefit Plans •

• Healthcare Reimbursement: Selectable amounts between $300 and $3200 per year.
• Dependent Care Reimbursement: Selectable amounts between $300 and $5000 per household per year.

Most facilities employees receive the benefits of the Teamsters bargaining unit.  You may review the Teamsters bargaining agreement by going to Contracts (CBAs).

Overtime Pay

• Time and one-half (over 40 hours, not including paid sick and personal days during week)

Holiday Pay

• Time and one-half pay except
• 2(x) pay: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Memorial Day, July 4, MLK

Longevity

• $700 (completion of 10 years)
• $1,200 (completion of 15 years)
• $1,750 (completion of 20 years)
• $2,000 (completion of 25 years)
