Leave of Absence
We understand that there are times when employees may need to take a leave of absence due to personal, family, medical, or civic responsibilities. Whether the leave is for parental leave, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), an unpaid leave of absence, Workers' Compensation, jury duty, or military service, Briarcliff Manor UFSD is committed to supporting employees through these important life events.
Each type of leave has specific eligibility requirements, procedures, and documentation requirements. To ensure a smooth process and compliance with District policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements, employees should notify both their direct supervisor and the Director of Human Resources as soon as they become aware of the need for a leave of absence.
All official leave requests and related notifications must be submitted through Frontline Central using the appropriate leave request form. More information regarding Frontline Central forms can be found by going to the "Frontline Central: There Really Is a Form for That!" page.
Return to Work: Post Medical Leave of Absence
When returning from a medical leave of absence of four days or more, employees must complete the Return to Work Medical Clearance from on Frontline Central with a doctor's note clearing you to return with "no restrictions". If you are requesting medical accommodations please ensure your requested accommodations, with a supporting doctor's note, is included. Any questions regarding your return to work may be addressed to the Director of Human Resources, Laura Neier.
