Facilities & Workspaces

The custodial team performs daily cleaning of the buildings. Faculty and staff are expected to keep their spaces orderly to facilitate efficient cleaning. Food should be limited to classrooms and offices, as storing food in desks and cabinets can attract pests. 

If repairs, maintenance, or other concerns arise, staff should not hesitate to contact the Facilities department. Staff can either call the main office, which can radio for a custodian to address immediate issues or submit a work order through the system. 

ML Work Orders is the system used, accessible via the district homepage: go to the Help Desk tab and select the Maintenance Work Order button. This will take users to a login page, where they can create a new ticket by following the prompts. If additional assistance is needed with entering a ticket, the technology staff can be contacted. 

Items such as personal refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, hot plates, or plug-in air fresheners are NOT permitted in New York State school classrooms, as they are flagged during annual fire inspections.  

While the workplace may feel like a second home, the facilities and their contents are district property. All staff are expected to treat these spaces with respect. Since these spaces and equipment are shared, it is important to ensure they last. 

Although this furniture is mobile, it is intended to remain in its designated areas and should not be moved or exchanged without approval from the administration. 

Classroom assignments may change from year to year. Staff should not assume that any items brought into a space are permanent. Personal items, especially valuable ones, should be kept to a minimum and properly secured.  

Excessive amounts of paper, non-fire-rated materials on walls and windows, and daisy-chained extension cords (multiple cords plugged into each other) are also not permitted.
