Assignment for Chaperone Duties
If no volunteers are available, teachers will be assigned chaperone duties in an equitable manner and compensated as specified above.
Teachers have the right of first refusal for chaperone, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities. If no teacher accepts the assignment, the District will then offer the position to Teaching Assistants based on seniority. Special expertise required for certain assignments will be considered when assigning Teaching Assistants. Non-BTA members may be applicable for Chaperone Duty.
Attendance at a third evening conference (e.g., Back-to-School Night) will exempt the teacher from additional chaperone duties.
Chaperone Compensation
Employees must complete the Chaperone Claim Form to be compensated for chaperoning hours.
