Dear Parents,
On May 30th the BHS Counseling Department is hosting our 4th and final Conversations with the Counselors event. There will be 2 concurrent programs:
· For 9-11th grade parents we will give the same "Mock Admissions Committee" Workshop to parents that we did with 10th graders during English class in April. This will be held in the HS Library
· For senior parents, Dr. Nathan Heltzel along with Meredith Ohmes, our Student Assistance Counselor, will give advice about transitioning your child to college. This will be held in the HS College Conference Room
If you have a senior and an underclassman, we recommend that you go to the senior program since we do the Mock Admission Committee every year.
The programs take place from 8:30-9:30am. We look forward to seeing you on May 30th.
Senior Parents: If your child is actively pursuing a wait-list option, is accepted off the wait-list, and wishes to enroll in that school, you must let his/her counselor know so that your student's final high school transcript is sent to the proper university. Final transcripts will be sent at the end of June, after graduation. Transcripts are not finalized until the students officially graduate.
Junior Parents: Please remind your son/daughter to complete their "autobiographical record", if they have not already done so, by going to their Naviance family connection page, clicking on "About Me" at the top of the page, and clicking on "My Surveys," "Surveys in Progress" or "Surveys not Started." If you would like to fill out the "Parent Brag Sheet", it can be also be found in the "About Me" portion of your Naviance account. If you do not have your own log in, please contact your child's guidance counselor.
