Dear BHS Parents and Students,

As a school community, we recognize the concerning dangers involving alcohol, drugs, opioids, vaping, and distracted driving.  We love our children and strive to continually educate them to make proper decisions and ensure their well-being through preventative education.

On Monday, February 4, 2019, Stephen Hill, speaker and author, will address students in grades 9-12 on Vaping and Substance Abuse as well as his journey to recovery.

The Stephen Hill Speak Sobriety presentations will take place period 3 (grades 11 & 12) and period 4 (grades 9 & 10).  He will also be available during the lunch periods to allow students ample time for questions.  We are very appreciative of the BHS PTA for their generous support of this program.  Kindly review the following website for more information: https://speaksobriety.com/about/ or feel free to contact me.

On March 21st, during period 6, students in grades 11 and 12 and sophomores registered for the spring session of Driver Education will attend the Hang Up and Drive presentation by Jacy Good and Steve Johnson.  Jacy recounts her tragic story of returning home to PA with her parents after her college graduation day, only to be victim of a distracted driver.  Hang up and Drive has been presented to over 900 audiences in 36 states since 2011 and is endorsed by the National Safety Council.  The website www.hangupanddrive.com provides further information.

We once again thank the high school PTA for their tireless efforts to help keep our children safe through their support of programs like these.

Sincerely,

Debora French, Principal
