Dear Parents and Students,

The Alliance for Safe Kids (ASK), a New York-based non-profit organization in Yorktown Heights founded in 2002 to represent various segments of the community to work together to provide a safety net for our youth and families, is holding the 9th Annual Save a Life Forum on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Yorktown High School, 2727 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, New York from 12:00-3:00 pm.

The ASK mission is promote awareness and prevention of substance use/abuse and other destructive behaviors damaging to our youth. ASK is a collaboration within the community – parents, teens, educators, law enforcement, government, medical professionals, businesses, faith leaders, civic groups – aimed at providing youth with the information and skills needed to make healthy decisions while emphasizing the need for families to protect and nurture their children by getting informed and staying involved.

I have attended this program for several years and have found the forum to be invaluable as an educator and parent in providing resources and information. I encourage our Briarcliff parents and students to take advantage of this opportunity to continue our partnership in preventing destructive behaviors for our young people.

All Save A Life participants will receive Program Certificates (for resumes/portfolios) and three community service hours will be given to all high school participants. Kindly submit your program certificates along with the attached community service log accessible via the link below to receive Briarcliff HS community service hours to Ms. Rutledge for grades 9 and 10 and Ms. Guida for grades 11 and 12. A reminder to Briarcliff HS seniors that all 4 years of community service hours required for senior internship eligibility and graduation must be fulfilled by April 15th.
