Dear Parents and Guardians,
In honor of American Heart Month and Kindness Week, on February 14th, Briarcliff Middle School will be taking a field trip to Playland Ice Casino for a day of ice skating.
We want our students to learn to live a heart-healthy lifestyle and to practice a day of self-care for the body and soul through skating while building connections within the school community.
Students will start the day with a grade level friendship breakfast and then begin to depart for Playland Ice Casino mid-morning. When students arrive at the rink, they will be able to rent skates (students are not permitted to bring their own skates). If your child is new to skating or does not like to skate, our teachers will be running a variety of activities off the ice to promote a healthy heart through social connections.
When students return to school, they will have lunch in their classrooms (please indicate your choice for lunch on the permission slip) and then end the day with period 9 classes.
Our PTA has generously offered to sponsor this trip, so there will be no cost to your family. We ask that you read the permission slip over carefully, sign and return it by February 9th. Please click HERE for the permission slip. It has also been sent home with your student.
