Dear Todd Families, Today marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. It's the Year of the Rabbit! This holiday is filled with rich culture and tradition that centers around the hope for good fortune and prosperity. To all our families celebrating, we wish you a very Happy New Year! In collaboration with the PTA, we provide our students with wonderful opportunities to participate in programs that enrich their educational experience. On Wednesday, our 4th graders participated in the ARC Stages Visions and Voices Playwriting Program. This program introduces students to the world of the stage and self-expression while inspiring them to write plays. It develops creativity and literacy competencies. |
On Friday, our 5th graders began the "Day in Clay" Multicultural Ceramic Arts Program with artist-in-residence, Cliff Mendelson, and art teacher, Paul Villanueva. This program will continue tomorrow. Each student creates their own individual clay mask using the style and techniques of the African cultures utilizing various symbols, patterns, and imagery. |
We look forward to many more exciting, enriching programs at Todd in the months to come and we thank the PTA for their ongoing support! This week's affirmation is "I can listen and understand different points of view." We believe it is important to teach children to value the opinions of others and to engage in respectful communication. In our classrooms, students have opportunities to share their ideas, consider other perspectives, and have positive interactions. Have a fantastic week! Warm regards, Jessica Michaelidis, Principal Anne Marie Foley, Assistant Principal |
