Dear Freshman Parents and Students:
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) will be given at Briarcliff High School on Wednesday, October 12th from 8:30am-12:30pm. Formal classes will not be in session as all juniors and some sophomores will be taking the exam.
Freshmen are expected to be in attendance from 8:30am-12:30pm. They will report to a designated location for attendance purposes and receive the specific agenda for the day. The morning will serve as an extension of the Freshman Orientation Program consisting of the following sessions:
- Mandatory NYS CPR Instruction: P.E. Department
- What is Plagiarism?: Mr. Tlsty (English teacher) & Ms. Keane (Library Media Specialist)
- The Balanced Student: Mr. Pellegrin (Social Worker), Ms. Ohmes (Student Assistance Counselor) & Ms. Silverman (Biology/Earth Science teacher)
- Introduction to the Four-Year Guidance Plan: Counseling Department
Students will arrive at BHS on their regular Briarcliff/Pocantico morning bus. Upon completion of the ½ day, students will depart at 12:30pm on their Briarcliff/Pocantico bus.
Note:
- The Cafeteria will be serving a "grab and go" breakfast option.
- There will be no afterschool clubs on Wednesday, October 12th.
- Athletic practices and competitions will take place on Wednesday, October 12th as scheduled.
