Dear Fifth Grade Families,
We're sure that it feels like yesterday that your child was entering Kindergarten at Todd and here they are, well on their way to young adulthood and ready to "Move Up" to the Middle School...the time flies by so quickly.
Please join us on Tuesday, June 21st when we will celebrate our 5th graders with an outdoor ceremony on the playing field. As in the past there will be speeches and each child will be recognized by their teacher and receive a certificate. Additionally, our 5th graders will be presenting their Capstone projects to our families prior to the ceremony. Children will be assigned to various locations (more details will come from the classroom teachers) and your child will have an opportunity to share their hard work, effort, and expertise with an audience.
If our event is held outside on the field, we will provide seating for 4 guests per family. If we are unable to hold the ceremony outside, we will follow the same schedule, but the ceremony will be held in the Todd School gym on Tuesday, June 21st. Due to the occupancy in the gym and the number of students in our graduating class, there will be a limit of 2 guests per family if the event is held indoors. If the venue changes from outdoors to indoors, we will contact families via email as soon as possible.
When you arrive:
To avoid the carline and buses please do not arrive before 8:10.
Park in front of the building.
Enter through the main entrance and sign in at the greeter's desk. Go to your child's assigned Capstone presentation location.
Our schedule will be as follows:
Presentation of 5th Grade Capstone Projects: 8:30-9:15
5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony: 9:30-10:30
Students should plan on wearing "summer casual" clothing. Please keep in mind it will be late June and we will be on a sunny field when choosing appropriate attire and sunscreen protection. If you plan on taking your child home with you following the events, please fill out the form your classroom teacher will provide. If you have any other questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
We want to say a special thank you to all our fifth-grade families. Your partnership has been unbelievably supportive. We're looking forward to seeing you and celebrating your children on June 21st.
Best Regards,
