Dear Seniors and Parents of Seniors,
REMINDER: Tuesday, September 14, 2021, is Senior Information Night / Financial Aid Night.
6:00PM-7:00PM is Financial Aid Night via WebEx (optional)
7:15PM Senior Information Night via WebEx (mandatory)
The guidance staff invites and encourages you to attend this kickoff to your official "college application season". We will cover topics ranging from the Common App, sending test scores, Naviance and all of the nuts and bolts of the college application process. The program is geared toward parents AND students, so we hope to see you all there. To join the WebEx please click here.
Senior Conferences: Counselors will be meeting individually with senior students and their families to discuss post-secondary planning beginning September 17th, between the hours of 8:35am and 3:00pm. This is a very important meeting for both parent(s) and student. Each senior conference lasts approximately one class period. During your senior conference credits and graduation requirements will be reviewed, future plans discussed and procedures for applying to college will be outlined. Please note: parents will join the meetings via Teams. As this is a very busy time of year, we ask that you email Mrs. Marcel at nmarcel@briarcliffschools.org to set up an appointment (Please do not call to make this appointment). Have your child's schedule available as conferences should be scheduled during a student's free/lunch period.
Please email Mrs. Marcel two dates and times that are convenient for you and she will let you know what's available. Counselors may be able to have a senior family conference outside of school hours on Wednesday, September 22nd, Back-to-School Night, also via Teams. We look forward to meeting with you and your son/daughter at your senior conference.
Upcoming Events:
On September 14th, the Guidance Department will be running a workshop to assist your child with the college application process including how to log into and navigate Naviance and the Common Application. This event will take place during English classes.
