Dear Students:
We are pleased that you will be part of our online Health Program this year. Not only does this course offer you the convenience and flexibility of taking the class online, but it provides you with the expert instruction of a certified Briarcliff Health teacher. It is important to note that success in this course requires a level of maturity, active involvement, and a willingness to communicate issues and concerns with the teacher in a timely manner. If you can commit to these requirements, the course will indeed be a rewarding experience.
There is a MANDATORY meeting for all students registered for the upcoming online HOPE health class on Monday, September 20th during period 5. This meeting will take place in the district auditorium from 12:18-12:48 pm.
At this meeting, Mr. Robert Higle and Ms. Diane Guida will review course expectations with you and instruct you on how to proceed with the assignments. It is imperative that you test your username and password for Blackboard and are able to access the online Health class prior to the meeting on September20th. If you are unable to log in, please contact Mr. Higle at rhigle@briarcliffschools.org, or Ms. Guida at dguida@briarcliffschools.org immediately.
The online HOPE class will officially begin after this meeting. Therefore, it is critical that you attend the orientation.
Students in attendance will be excused from their period 5B classes. If you cannot attend the meeting, please contact me as soon as possible. Only students who have been excused will be exempt from attending the orientation. Students who have not been excused will be dropped from the course.
If you are no longer interested in taking the online HOPE health class, please contact your HS guidance counselor to change your schedule. There is most likely a waiting list for students to enroll in this online opportunity, so your courtesy with respect to relinquishing your place is appreciated.
Mr. Higle and Ms. Guida are looking forward to meeting with you on September 20th, and to having a productive and rewarding semester with you.
Regards,
