Few artists can consider themselves as lucky as the late world-renowned artist, Brice Marden, who achieved fame and success in his twenties.

A graduate of Briarcliff High School, Mr. Marden boasted many exhibits, including a 2006 retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art.

As an homage to his passing this summer, Briarcliff High School art teacher Roxanne Ritacco created a project for her students in her oil painting class, which involved painting artwork inspired by his style.

In response to last year’s success in incorporating the Fundations program in grades K through second, Todd Instructional Coach Jessica Bandel is now helping teachers provide lessons to third graders as well. She trained teachers last spring and has been supporting them through modeling, class observations and co-teaching lessons.

Briarcliff High School’s tradition of broadcasting live morning announcements on television screens in all classrooms is back.

This morning, Student Government Co-Presidents Nate Tannen and Karina Bar   read the announcements on live television and even had a special guest who stopped by.

We could all use a pick-me-up on a daily basis to feel good about ourselves. At Todd Elementary School, saying positive affirmations is a daily habit in the classroom.

School counselor Gillian O’Connell wanted students to incorporate their own personal affirmations also at home to reinforce positive thinking.

Briarcliff High School Senior Marc Arroyo grew up watching his two older sisters play volleyball at the school. After playing it last year for a local club, he met students from Croton-Harmon High school and, together, they decided to try and form a team with Briarcliff High School.
