Notes from the BFPA 

 

 Grants:

The BFPA awarded the following grants in December and January, bringing our total for the 2009/2010 school year to over $17, 000.

·       Rental of “Greased Lightning” car for BHS’s Grease

·       Funding for a Master Flute Class for the Middle School Band students

  • Purchase of 2 sets of Perfection Pegs, a tuning system for cellos, for use by Todd and MS cello students.

BHS presents Grease!  Performances will be Friday March 19th at 7:30, Saturday March 20th at 8:00PM and Sunday March 21st at 2:30 PM.  Don’t miss this great show!  Tickets are available at www.showtix4u.com.

 

Summercliff Players 2010 is pleased to announce our summer 2010 production, Urinetown. Volunteers Needed: The BFPA is looking for volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 school year.  If you would like to be an advocate for the performing arts programs in our school district, please contact us at bfpa.info@gmail.com.

 

Bravo!  The BFPA would like to congratulate the following students on being selected to perform in the Elementary All-County Chorus:  Erynn Altabef, Kelly Monaghan, Niki Nero, Daniella Volpacchio, in the Intermediate All-County Chorus:  Sydney Agona, Julia Chatzky, Blake Elwood, David Herman, Jack Herman, Trevor Jones, Emily Martorano, Jordan Ross, in Elementary All County Orchestra: Karthik Rao (violin) and in the Intermediate All County Orchestra: Sophie Rooks (violin).            Briarcliff Performing Arts were also well represented at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division conference in Philadelphia, PA.  by Allegra Carter (children’s chorus),  Blake Elwood(children’s chorus),  Caroline Johnson(children’s chorus),  Jordan Ross(Men in the Middle (workshop to deal with the male changing voice at the middle level) and Olivia Glass ( jazz choir). Congratulations to our Briarcliff Students. The performances were stellar!

 

Membership:  We hope that, if you haven’t already done so, you will become a member of the BFPA.  A membership form has been attached for your convenience.  We need your support to continue to promote and enhance the opportunities in the musical, dramatic, dance, theater and technical arts for all Briarcliff Manor district students.
