Celebrate The Importance Of Writing In The Lives of the Briarcliff Community
Dear Briarcliff Community, In conjunction with the National Day on Writing sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English, we have created a website that seeks to celebrate the importance of writing in the lives of the Briarcliff community and hope that you will be interested in contributing something that you have written.

We invite submissions from students, teachers, school staffs, administrators, parents, grandparents, Briarcliff community members, workers, legislators, and anyone else who values a connection to Briarcliff. Writing in any form will be considered, including letters, essays, brief memoirs, sketches, poems, short stories, editorials, speeches, miscellaneous musings, hopes and dreams, or any other writing that matters to the writer (maximum of 2,500 words).

The website will be open for viewing from October 20, 2009, the National Day on Writing, through June 1, 2010. The deadline for submitting your writing is November 6, 2009. Please consider contributing a piece that you’ve written.

• Visit the link for the National Day on Writing: http://www.galleryofwriting.org/about_ncte.php#day.

• Click on “Browse Galleries” at the top, then search for “Briarcliff Gallery of Writing” and next, click on that name.

• Read the Gallery Guidelines linked to the bottom of our gallery page and click on the Privacy Policy at the top.

• To submit your writing to the Briarcliff Gallery, click on “Contribute MY Writing” at the top.

We will e-mail you as soon as we’ve had a chance to screen your submission according to the Gallery Guidelines.

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Briarcliff Gallery of Writing project.

With best regards,

Thomas Kersting Jeremy Shulman English Department, Briarcliff High School
